Goal
My goal is to educate the owner so that the pet will have a happier, healthier and safer life.
The owner must realize that the relationship between their pet and themselves is the most important thing.
The dog must understand that the owner is the leader, so the owner must act like a leader, truly be a "master".
Dogs understand hierarchy and order. They strive to be as high in the hierarchy as possible.
If you do not take charge (control), the dog will. A dog is ill equipped to run a human pack and is usually very uncomfortable in that role.
(You will frequently see such behaviors as snapping, growling). He is much more secure in knowing that someone else is in charge.
Methods
While educating owners, dogs are trained with a 6 ft-leather leash and appropriate collar (buckle, choke chain or pinch).
Praise in conjunction with small well-time leash corrections are used to distinguish between good vs. bad behavior.
Corresponding voice tones, hand signals and body language are also used.
My classes are taught with humor and anecdotes along with a serious, no-nonsense approach to you being in charge of your dog.
